It's a Fire Mommy!
Today I was scared to death. First there was a knock on the door and then all of a sudden this screeching alarm started going off -- and then lights were flashing up by the ceiling. I ran and hid under the bed. My mommy told me it was just a test of the fire alarm system. What in the world is that?! No one told me when I went to my new home that there could be a chance of a fire. I was so scared that I didn't come out for over an hour. Even when I smelled food that mommy was eating, I still hid. I don't know if I will ever get adjusted to living in a high rise building. Before all the loud noise I tried to sneak out the front door while mommy was taking the trash out. She just picked me up and carried me back in again. One of these days I'm going to see the whole building -- not just my apartment. I'm glad I'm a kitty cat. I'm smaller and can fit in spaces under the bed in case there's danger. Not like mommy. She's bigger and she's not nearly as flexible and athletic as I am. Last night when I played with mommy she told me that I could be a soccer player or a goalie because I jumped so high. What's a soccer player? And a goalie? It sounds really impressive. One day I'll know all this stuff but right now I'm still learning lots of new things -- like all the best places to hide in the house!
